RENEWED, RENEWING
March 16, 2015
Just went back sa school ko nung
highschool. Ay redundant much. Anyway, I went to get my form 137, medyo gagraduate
na kase ako this sem. Naks.
“Naks congrats! Anyway, class... Former Corp. Commander ng CAT.”
And everybody in the class were saying, “Hi Ma’am!”
Biglang nagflashback sakin ang buhay ko. When I was so passionate to serve God and to serve people.

Biglang nagflashback sakin ang buhay ko. When I was so passionate to serve God and to serve people.
At para malaman to, I needed people
to speak the mind of God for me. They are times that I still don’t understand
what God wants me to understand.
Sa araw na to, dadalawin ko ang
paborito kong mentor sa lahat, the one who taught me almost everything about
leadership, para i-ask sya to be the speaker sa fellowship namin sa church.
And the next minutes of our convo
renewed my mind.
I was standing next to an opened
door, I saw him. Kumakatok ako to get his attention pero di sya humaharap. Busy
sya sa cellphone nya. I nicely shouted, “Sir!”
Then he saw me.
Then he saw me.
“Uy dang, pasok ka. Halika dito. Upo ka muna, wait ha, tapusin ko lang tong nilalaro ko. Hehe.”
“Sige lang Sir,” while staring at him.
He hasn’t changed. He didn’t grew
older. He even looked better.

Pagkatapos nyang maglaro, he said,
“Oh kamusta?”
I replied, “Okay naman sir, eto
gagraduate na. Thank God. Sir, I just needed to confirm para walang confusion,
Walang speaking of tongues.”
“Kami din wala. We also believe
that salvation is by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Walang good
works. Good works are declaration of faith.”
“Ayos Sir! Pareho tayo!”
“Hindi kasi nila naiintindahan na
ang speaking of tounges ay mga languages,” sabi nya at natuwa ako ng narinig ko
to.
Madaming-madami kaming napagusapan,
ng tao God created them to be a leader? Anong sabi sa Genesis 1:26, Let us make
man in our image...let them RULE over the fish of the sea and the birds of the
air... You see? Pero may iba ibang leadership kase. Hindi lang yung leader of
an organization or a group of people. Kase kapag ang mga leaders nag-agawan ng
trabaho, gugulo yan.”
I’m nodding and he added, “Anong
sabi sa the essence of leadership? Leaders are much like eagles, YOU FIND THEM
ONE AT A TIME. One leader on a particular work. Hindi pwedeng pakikialaman ng
isa ang trabaho ng iba.”
I nodded and said, “Ah yun pala yon
sir, grabe bumabalik na saken.”
He said, “Nagbabounce na ba ulit
sayo?”
I answered, “Opo sir.”
“May dalawang klase kasi ng leader. One is chosen by
people, and the other is chosen by God. Are you chosen by people or by God?” ang sabi nya saken.
Natigilan ako.
Natigilan ako.
Pagpapatuloy nya, “Jesus Christ is the greatest leader. Bakit? Sabi sa Philippians 2:6 Jesus being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God. Leadership is not about power. It’s about positive attitude, commitment and compassion. Anong nangyayari kapag walang positive attitude ang leader? Look at Hitler. Kilala moko dati, nung bago ang batch nyo, kawawa talaga sila saken, hitler ako nun eh. Pero nag-iba na ngayon. Apart from God, I am nothing. And a true leader has a confidence to stand ALONE. Tignan mo si Jesus Christ, may tumulong ba sakanya? Wala. Kelan ginagamit ni Jesus ang power nya? Kapag alam nyang may mali. Ganyan ang totoong leader, he will just use his power kapag nakikita nyang mali ang ginagawa ng pinamumunuan nya. Pero kung tama naman, i-pu-push nya lang to. Iba ang leader sa boss. Ang boss, he pushes people. Ang leader, he pulls. How? Si Jesus bakit kapag mangangaral sya, lagi syang nakasakay ng bangka? Kase dinudumog sya ng tao. A true leader pulls people,” he said.
At nang paalis nako dahil may mga
lalakarin pako, at naglakad palabas ng grandstand...
He looked at me and said, “You are
what you see.
You are what you see.”
After he said that, I looked at the tree line in front of us. And in my mind, I knew where I went wrong. Attitude. Tama
sya, the way you wiew your life is you.
Eto ang paborito kong verse sabi
nya, “Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your
own understanding. Verse 6, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make
your paths straight. At eto pa lady, isinasama ko to kase usually 5-6 lang kinoquote
diba?
Panginoon and turn away from evil.”
Bilang pagpapaalam, meron kaming
hand shake na ginagawa sa org namin dati, we tried to do it kaso sabi ko, “Ee
sir, nakalimutan ko na.”
And he responded, “Lady, wag na wag
mong kakalimutan kung san ka nagsimula.”
Muntik nakong maiyak, buti at
napigilan ko.

Biglang may lumabas na mga
kasamahan nyang teachers, and he said, “Corp. commander ku dati!”
Sumagot yung co-techer nya, “Wa,
kilala ke.”
He shook my hands again and said,
“I miss you lady. Thank you for trusting me. And keep the fire burning.”
Remember your roots. You serve God,
you serve people. You serve people, you serve God.
“Lahat tayo alam na natin ang
pagkamatay ni Jesus Christ for us sa cross, pati ang mga miracles nya. Ngayon,
ipapakita naman natin yung leadership nya.” (c) Sir Isip
